Galvanized Steel grid will always be the proper choice for many project categories. Strength, long service life, ease of installation and relatively low cost make welded steel grating the most popular of all grating types.
Note: Stainless steel grid is also available for use in corrosive environments.
Most Galvanized steel grids is manufactured by an automated resistance-welding process under extreme heat and pressure, literally fusing the cross bar/bearing bar intersections together to form a rugged, onepiece panel. The surface remains uniform to accommodate foot or vehicular traffic. Welded bar grating is commonly used in industrial plants and commercial buildings for walkways, platforms, mezzanine decking, safety barriers, trench covers and ventilation grates. OEM applications such as steps, guards or grilles. Standard panels, suitable for general flooring applications, are available in carbon or stainless steel in widths of 24" or 36", with bearing bars spaced at 1-3/16", 15/16" or 11/16".

Hot dip galvanized steel grid
Hot-dip galvanizing is the process of coating steel grids with a thin zinc layer by passing the steel through a molten bath of zinc at a temperature of around 860 F (460 C). When exposed to the atmosphere, pure zinc reacts with oxygen to form zinc oxide, which further reacts with carbonate, adult grey, fairly strong material that stops further corrosion in many circumstances, protecting the steel below from the elements .
