Lubricant powder:

It ensures lubrication of the brake shoes of the train wheels. Its lubricity
is also exploited in oil- or greasebased suspensions.

Water-based dispersions of graphite, including various additives (surfactants), are sprayed on hot steel mandrels at high temperature to ensure lubrication during the production of seamless tubes for oil drilling.

It also acts as lubri-cant for the drilling equipment, reducing wear of the drilling head and rods.
