1. Advantage of ceramic bearing:

A. Compared with bearing steel, ceramics [silicon nitride (Si3N4)] has superior properties such as light weight and high elasticity.

 

B. One of the advantages of ceramics when used as a material for bearings is a reduction in the slip of rolling elements caused by centrifugal force and gyroscopic moments under high-speed rotation. Ceramic material is highly effective for meeting the low temperature increase requirements of the bearing.

 

 

C. Other advantages include improved rigidity and improvements in seizure life and grease service life. Ceramic bearings, although varying depending on operating conditions, allow approximately 30% to 50% improvement in speed as compared with steel bearings.

 

D.It should be noted that the balls in each of these applications are always ceramic. Many people are using ceramic ball bearings in their applications because ceramic is lighter than steel.

F.They allow the skater to move in a straight line with little resistance. Manufacturing ball bearings is surprisingly similar to forming balls of dough. A supply of metal wire approximately the same diameter as the bearings is placed in a machine with two plates designed as hemispheres.
