Piston fillers are more costly than overflow fillers with similar bottle per minute outputs. Piston fillers with less expensive check valves can pass fluids with viscosities greater than an overflow filler such as low temperature syrups but generally, piston fillers are constructed with 3 way valves for maximum versatility.
