Highway Cable Barrier 

Cable Barrier System is a flexible system to provide safer guard in open areas(both roadside and median ).it refers to guard cable or wire rope safety barrier (WRSB), is a type of roadside or median safety barrier. 

It consists of steel wire ropes mounted on posts. Same with any roadside barrier, 

its purpose is

1. To prevent vehicle from leaving the traveled way and crash with opposite ones.

2. To redirect the errant vehicle.

Because these barriers are relatively inexpensive to install and very effective at capturing vehicles, their use is becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide!

The system is more forgiving than traditional concrete (Jersey) barriers and remains effective when installed on sloping terrain. The flexibility of the system absorbs impact energy and dissipates it laterally, which reduces the forces transmitted to the vehicle.

There are two Types of cable barriers:

1.Low-tension 

2.High-tension. 

High-tension cable consists of six pre-stretched steel ropes supported by posts, while the Low-tension cable consists 5 only.

Each system has its advantages and disadvantages, but in general, a high-tension system has a higher initial cost with lower long-term  maintenance  costs and concerns.

Where’s the Cable Guardrail used?

Two sides of bridges or railways,Airport,sea Ports,Highway,Mountain areas,Farms and open areas.

Advantage Compared to W-Beam Steel Guardrail:

1.Prevent a secondary damage or harm to people and vehicles.

2.Offer better and clearer visual effects and views,reduce visual fatigue.

3.Takes less places,easy for road cleaning and maintenance.

Disadvantage Compared to W-Beam Steel Guardrail:
1. Poor visual induction.
2. Not suitable for short range project,as the installation cost is high.
3. Not suitable for corners,curves.as the process is complicated.
