Uniaxial Geogrid or Single Geogrid
Product Introduction:
The uniaxial geogrid is made of molecular polymer, adding anti-ultraviolet and anti-aging additives into it. The chain-shaped molecules scattered in disorder are arranged in a linear direction through uniaxial tension. The geogrid is a high tensile-strength geosynthetics stretched longitudinally after extrusion into sheets and punching into nets. This process make the molecular to stand in linear direction, and to form a oval-shaped network which is even distributed and has high tensile strength at nodes. This structure has high tensile strength and tensile modulus. The tensile strength can reach 100-200Mpa which is close to the level of low -carbon steel. It’s more superior than the traditional reinforcement materials. Our products have high quality reaching international standards. The tensile strength and tensile modulus (elongation at 2% -- 5%) provide the ideal capacity-bearing and chain system to soil. Product Application:
1. Uniaxial geogrid is used on soft foundation enhancement: the geogrid can improve the bearing capacity rapidly and control sinking of foundation; the limiting function to road foundation can distribute the loads to much wider basement to reduce foundation thickness, reduce the construction costs, shorten construction time and prolong the lifespan.
2. Uniaxial geogrid is applied to enhance asphalt or cement roads: spreading the geogrids under asphalt or cement layers can reduce the traffic loads, extend the life of pavement, reduce the thickness of asphalt or cement thickness and reduce costs greatly.
3. Uniaxial geogrid is used to strengthen embankments, slopes and retaining walls: the fillings of traditional embankments especially the high embankments are usually overranging and the edges are hard to compact. This will lead collapse because of much rain. The traditional embankments also need a gentle slope and big areas. The same problem also exists on retaining walls. The enforcement of the geogrid to embankments, slopes and retaining walls can reduce the area to a half, prolong the lifespan and reduce the costs to 20-50%.
4. The product is used to strengthen seawall: it can be made into stone-cage, and combined with geogrids. This can prevent the dam washed by sea and cause collapse. The sone-cage is permeable and can slow down the waves, prolong the dam life, save manpower and shorten the construction period.
5. It’s used on landfills: Geogrid with other geosynthetic materials are used on landfill can effectively solve the problem of uneven subsidence of foundation and gas emission , and can maximize the storage capacity of landfill.
6. Special purpose of uniaxial geogrid is resistance to low temperature. Low temperature resistant geogrids produced by Luyuan can still meet the requirements after 200 thermal cycles between -45℃ and 50℃ . It’s proved by Qinghai -Tibet Railway, and it’s suitable for all kinds of frozen soil in northern China.
