1) Higher thermal conductivity.Steel Yankee dryers have thinner shells and higher density and therefore work with higher thermal conductivity which increases the evaporation rate by 20%-25%.
2) Safer operation.Steel Yankee’s higher elasticity enables dryers to avoid the accidental explosion which occurs on cast iron cylinders in certain cases.
3) Lower energy consumption.The weight of steel Yankee dryer is lower than that of cast iron Yankee.Steel Yankee with the same specifications as cast iron Yankee can work at higher speed and lower driving power for energy saving purpose.
4) Lower operational costs.Less hot air from the hood is required as the thermal conductivity of steel Yankee is higher.
5) Surface metal coating.Metal spray coating is applied on the surface of steel Yankee in order to increase hardness and improve creping process.The cross-machine moisture problems on cost iron Yankee can be reduced effectively.
