What causes the sewage/wastewater problem?

All wastewater treatment plants have an allowable discharge consent limit for 'solids' being discharged from the plant in the final effluent. These limits are set by the Environment Agency (EA) and will vary from plant to plant depending on such factors as how 'environmentally sensitive' the waterway being discharged in to is. If the levels within a sample are excessive the plant fails and large fines are imposed on the operator until it is brought back within the agreed limits. It's at this point that the Filtration Unit is introduced to take care of these additional solids as well as lowering ammonia levels (which is another area a WWTP can fail).

How long does it take to install?

The Filtration is delivered as one complete unit. There are several factors that affect exactely how long they take to install such as proximity of the tank to the outlet, how far the return is and whether the system is gravity fed or pumped. As a general rule the units would take no longer than a week to install in most cases.
