AGM (Absorptive Glass Mat ) is a non-woven fabric made with glass microfiber. It has been available for more than 30-years and has been used in VRLA batteries world-wide

Absorbency:

Because AGM is highly porus ( 90-95%, @20kPa ) that can absorb more acid. Additionally it has small pore sizes to maintain electrolyte levels in the battery.

Durability:

Because AGM is highly resistant to battery acid, oxidation and heat, and can maintain its shape and strength after prolonged exposure of sever environmental conditions.

Applications:

AGM is the best for the retainer mat for VRLA batteries.
