Wire Mesh Gasket

Wire mesh EMI gasket are jointless, with either round or rectangular cross sections. They are made by die-compressing knitted wire mesh into a wide range of shapes and resiliencies. Gaskets can be produced in the metals or other metals pr special requirements.

The compressing mesh gasket are designed for applications requiring small round or retangular EMI seals such as waveguide choke flanges, or for high compression set, they are not recommended where mating joints must be opened and closed. Parts are normally supplied as medium density, but this can be varied to suit applications.

The gaskets are held in place by sidewall friction in tight slots or grooves, not less than0.062inch(1.57mm) width or 0.040inch(1.01mm)thick. Since they are compressed, the gasket need no allowance for material flow or lateral deflection, width and material permitting, bolt holes can be formed  in the gasket wall.

These gasket will not provide moisture or pressure sealing.For small cross section combination EMI/environmental or pressure seals, conductive Eastover O-rings are recommended
