1. Product Introduction

The Alcatel-Lucent 7360 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) FX provides high-capacity access shelves that address mass-market fiber deployments. Service providers benefit from lower OPEX and extended network capabilities to meet bandwidth demand.

The 7360 ISAM FX shelves simultaneously support multiple PON technologies and high-density point-to-point services. The non-blocking backplane architecture delivers 2 x 100 Gb/s to each slot. The shelves offer three size variants that can be mounted in several locations from the central office to cabinets to customer premises.

Over 2000 subscribers can be served with an FX-4 shelf equipped with 16-port GPON line cards and a typical 1:32 split. Using a 1:64 split doubles the number of subscribers, resulting in over 16,000 subscribers served from a single 16-slot shelf. Mixing and matching the GPON, EPON, 10G PON and point-to-point make the 7360 ISAM FX ideal for converging residential and business services onto a single system.
