ZTE's ZXMSG 9000 Multi-service Gateway located between the Circuit Switch Network (CSN) and the IP Packet Switch Network (PSN).
ZXMSG 9000 is a newly developed large-capacity multi-service gateway with many excellent features which include: large capacity, high density, and industry-leading modularized architecture in both hardware and software.
ZXMSG 9000 offers the integrated functionality of an access gateway, trunk gateway and signaling gateway . ZXMSG 9000 also provides it's two mini type products which are ZXMSG 9000 MT64 and ZXMSG 9000 MT256.

Media Gateway Functionality
When used as a Media Gateway, the ZXMSG 9000 provides the following functionalities:
- As a TG - mainly responsible for the access of PSTN network to IP core network via trunk line so as to complete the conversion of voice/fax between the PSTN/ISDN trunk and the IP network
- As an AG – supports analog subscriber line access, traditional PBX access adopting PRI signaling, standard V.5.2 AN access ,and WLL network for remote subscriber unit access, remote subscriber module access, and Hair-Pin function
Media Server Functionality
When used as a Media Server, the ZXMSG 9000 provides the following functionality:
- Delivers services such as IVR, three-party/multi-party conferencing, pre-recorded announcements etc.

Signaling Gateway Functionality
When used as a Signaling Gateway, the ZXMSG 9000 provides the following functionalities:
- Supports a number of SS7 networks, accomplishing signaling transmission of each SS7 network independently
- Supports IP-based distributed signaling node
- Supports MTP message processing and network management of SS7 in SCN network, and supports functionality of STP
- Supports signaling adaptation protocol complying with IETF, including Sigtran M3UA, M2UA, M2PA with support transmission of SS7 MTP3, MTP2 message
- Supports signaling adaptation protocol complying with IETF including Sigtran SUA, SCCP connectionless and connection-oriented services
