The difference between Low Frequency and High Frequency UPS
The HF UPS converts the battery DC to a high voltage CD, using a high frequency switch-mode converter. The HVDC goes through an array of FET transistors, which are driven to generate an approximation of AC mains. Cheaper ones make a stepped square wave, better ones a near sine wave.
That HV converter is relatively lightweight. Most of the mass of such an inverter is the battery.
For the low frequency type, the DC goes into an iron power transformer (which is usually dual function as the battery charger transformer), and driven on the low voltage side to simulate AC, which directly comes out the 220V (or 120V) side of the transformer. The Iron transformer is usually pretty large, and a good part of the mass of the inverter, along with the battery.
Product Functions and Features
• The batteries of the CDD series are always connected to the inverter, so that no power transfer switches are necessary. When power loss occurs, the rectifier simply drops out of the circuit and the batteries keep the power steady and unchanged. When power is restored, the rectifier resumes carrying most of the load and begins charging the batteries.
• The Double-conversion UPS provides a layer of insulation from power quality problems. It allows control of output voltage and frequency regardless of input voltage and frequency.
• IGBT SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation ) technology with 100% input to output isolation ensures complete safety of load. Quick transient response ensures enhanced crest factor allowing connectivity to more computers without rebooting problem. The SVPWM technology upon the IGBT power switching tube enhance the utility of the DC voltage by 15% and simultaneously eliminate the harmonic content by a large proportion, comparing to the conventional SPWM (Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation ) technology.
• Dual DSP (Digital Signal Processor) basing on ART@Cortex TM-M enables overall digital control on UPS process of rectification and inversion and the charge and discharge of the battery. The machine is equipped with LCD screen, an emergency switch and physical memory for information log.
• The CDD series UPS possess excellent loading characteristics by generating high precise output and firmly resisting to multifarious surges, so as to secure constant power output even when power consumption leaps from 0% to 100% with no request shifting to bypass.
• The UPS manage the control on each individual phase among the three phases separately by the means of rejecting the negative-sequence and zero-sequence components of output-voltage, it implements controlling the imbalance ratio of the three phases’ output-voltage and the Imbalance ratio <5% (under 100% imbalance loads).
• The advanced Synchronized Equivalent Flow Control technology manage rigid synchronized operation and equivalently divide the load current for each UPS unit in the Redundancy Parallel Array. These SEFC technology and RPA technology enhance the reliability of the UPS system to a highest level and promote the system lifespan to the most. CHADI technologies can well manage 32 units of UPS in the RPA arrangement.(*RPA function is optional)
• Comprehensive protection functions with alarms for all faulty aspects including over-voltage protection and low-voltage protection for input and output, phase-sequence protection, over-charging and over-discharging protection for batteries, short circuit for output, over-hot protection and so on.
• Self diagnosis program is built in the machine and display vividly on the 7" LCD screen, the program completely diagnose among the main circuits and key components and set alarm for any fault or defect.
• With Auto Re-start Function, when AC working abnormally, battery mode can supply power to loads till shutting up automatically; when AC recovering, UPS will start automatically, and supply power normally, no need to start manually.
• All circuit boards in the machine are processed by specially treatments of anti-dust, anti-humidity and anti-corrosion.

2. Warranty time for classified components
Spare parts are items of inventory that are used for the repair or replacement of failed or expired components, in order to ensure continued operation of the system.
Spare parts fall under three major categories:
Start-up spares: fuses and parts recommended during commissioning
Critical spares: recommended for stock, essential for troubleshooting and repairs
Consumables: parts that have a limited operational life and must be replaced at specific intervals.
A complete warranty for the whole machine for 1 year, except the fuses and other Consumable Parts that have a limited operational life and must be replaced at specific intervals.
2 years warranty for batteries if batteries are supplied with power system. Un-suitable stock, long time untouched batteries or wrong maintenance are not included in the warranty.
3 years' warranty for the rectifier complete, the inverter complete, the transfer complete and the DSP system and circuit board completes
5 years' warranty for the copper coil transformers, chargers, ventilation fans and LCD displays.
During the warranty period, if the defect is easy to fix, we will send spare parts for free to customer and instruct the change steps. If the repair is complicated and a professional is needed on site, we will send our professional from China or from our dealer at local to do the repair with free spare parts.
For all trouble-shooting and repairing happened outside the warranty, we will response same positively and provide all needful spare parts and professionals on negotiated conditions with buyer.
3. On-site start-up and commissioning and training
For any our delivery to any location, we can provide on-site start-ups and commissioning and operation personnel training on customer's request.
4. Return Service
To obtain the return service from CHADI UPS, you must be the original purchaser/user of the product and you must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from CHADI UPS or an authorized CHADI UPS service center. Products must be returned to CHADI UPS or an authorized CHADI UPS service center with transportation charges prepaid within 30 days of the product deficiency and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof of date and place of purchase.
Important Components
RECTIFIER/CHARGER
1. Incoming AC power converted to a regulated DC output by the rectifier/charger for supplying DC power to the inverter and battery; rectifier/charger, a phase-controlled, solid-state SCR type with constant voltage/constant current control circuitry.
2. Input Power Transformer: Dry type AC input to the rectifier/charger, (copper wiring exclusively); transformer's hottest spot winding temperature not to exceed the temperature limit of the transformer insulation class of materials when operating at full load at maximum ambient temperature.
INVERTER
1. Inverter to convert DC power from the rectifier/charger output or the battery, into regulated AC power for supporting the critical AC load; inverter; transistorized, phase-controlled, pulse width modulated (SVPMW) design capable of providing the specified AC output.
2. Output Power Transformer: Dry type power transformer for the inverter AC output, (copper wiring exclusively) with hottest spot winding temperature not to exceed the temperature limit of the transformer insulation class of material when operating at full load at maximum ambient temperature.
STATIC TRANSFER SWITCH
1. A static transfer switch and bypass circuit furnished as integral part of the UPS; a naturally commutated high speed static (SCR-type) device rated to conduct full load current continuously; overload rating of 120% rated load for 20 minutes and 150% rated load for 5 minutes; static transfer switch control logic to contain an automatic transfer control circuit that sense the status of the inverter logic signals, and operating and alarm conditions; control circuits to provide an uninterrupted transfer to the load to an alternate bypass source, without exceeding the transient limits specified herein, when an overload or malfunction occurs within the UPS, or for bypassing the UPS for maintenance.
