AISI 440A HIGH CARBON STAINLESS STEEL - 440A is a straight chromium martensitic stainless steel which combine

the superior wear resistance of high carbon alloys with the excellent corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels.

It is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions.

Maximum corrosion resistance is attained only in the fully hardened condition.

 

7Cr17MoV ( 440A modified high carbon stainless steel ) is developed based on GB 7Cr17 stainless steel by adding

elements Mo and V.

Molybdenum (Mo)

* Increases strength, hardness, hardenability, and toughness.

* Improves machinability and resistance to corrosion.

Vanadium (V)

* Increases strength, wear resistance, and increases toughness.
