     A windshield wiper is a device used to remove rain, snow, ice and debris from automobile windshield. • Drivers can extend the life of wiper blades by performing a bit of routine maintenance. Every time a driver fills the petrol tank, he should get in the habit of cleaning the windshield. Once a month, a driver should wiper the rubber squeegee with a moist towel to brush away road debris and dirt.
• Your driving and parking environment can be a factor in the lifespan of your wiper blades-sun can damage the rubber over time, as can salty and dusty air. The blades on cars parked on the street wear out much faster due to climate conditions than cars stored in a garage.
• Windshield wipers should never be used to de-ice a windshield. Instead, a driver should use the car’s defrost feature to melt the ice or use the appropriate ice scraper.
• A person who lives in a wintry climate should take the time to pull the wipers away from the windshield to keep the ice from freezing the blades in place.
