100% Cotton Needle Punched Quilt Batting - 100% natural cotton are punched with hundreds of needles into a strong, thin scrim material to prevent tearing, shifting or migration of fibers, The needling process holds the fibres together without glue or resins and they stay in place inside the quilt. Stitch distance is 8-10” apart due to the binder. Very clean cotton, natural colour , light weight and soft.

2. Q: Is there a right or wrong side to 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting ?
A: No, there is no right or wrong side of batting but there is a "scrim" side. the cotton fibers are layered ont a scrim-a thin substrate material. During the needle-punch process, barbed needles push the cotton fiber through and entangle them into the scrim. When quilting, it is usually easier to do so in the same direction. it was needle-punched -the cotton side facing towards your quilt top and the scrim side facing to your quilt backing.With the cotton side is distinguished by its leaf & stem remnants (face to quilt top). there is a side that is more shinier and smoother. This is the scrim side and should face to quilt backing.
3. Q: how to pre-wash and care for 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting?
A: Note that this step is optional. Expect a 3-5% shrinkage with the first wash. Use cold water to reduce shrinkage amount.
Please follow these directions if you wish to pre-wash 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting:
a) Hand Wash mild detergent. Do not agitate or spin in washer.
b) Soak for 20 minutes, rinse several times.
c) Squeeze out water. DO NOT WRING. Rolling in a towel helps.
d) We recommend you lay flat to air dry but you may also tumble dry low.

A: Yes, 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton battingis easy to hand quilt because it contains no scrim. You will find that your stitches will pop and your finished quilt will have beautiful drape. However, it will also do well with tight machine quilting and it will stay pliable.
5. Q: Is it safe to put 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting in the microwave?
A: We don’t recommend 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting for microwave use. Cotton batting, cotton fabric and cotton threads are flammable. Patterns recommending the use of 100% Organic needle punched quilt cotton batting for microwave use are doing so without the consent of Karass Fashion.
