 sand and carbon to high temperatures in the Acheson furnace technique. 

 2.Silicon carbide is an extremely hard material , is chemically inert and does

 not melt. 

3.Silicon Carbide has a high thermal conductivity, a low coefficient of 

thermal expansion, is thermal shock and abrasion resistant and has strength 

at high temperatures.

 4.Silicon carbide’s varied properties make it an effective material in many 

different applications.

5.The hardness of black silicon carbide is greater than fused alumina but less

 than synthetic diamond.

Reusable abrasive:

1. Lapping and polishing medium

2.Grinding wheels and grinding medium 

3.Wear-resistant and refractory products

Blasting systems:

1. Pressure blast systems
