Ferrosilicon (FeSi) is composed of iron alloy of iron and silicon. Due to silicon and oxygen is easy synthesis silica ferrosilicon with commonly used in steelmaking as a deoxidizer, and the same time as a lot of heat generation of SiO2, while deoxygenated, is also advantageous to improve the temperature of molten steel.
Ferrosilicon can also be used as alloy elements join agent widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat resistant steel and electrical silicon steel, ferrosilicon, ferroalloy production and chemical industry, used as a reducing agent.

1.it can be used to make other ferroalloys. Ferrosilicon is also used for manufacture of silicon, corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant ferrous silicon alloys, and silicon steel for electromotors and transformer cores.
In the manufacture of cast iron, ferrosilicon is used for inoculation of the iron to accelerate graphitization. In arc welding, ferrosilicon can be found in some electrode coatings.
2.Ferrosilicon is a basis for manufacture of prealloys like magnesium ferrosilicon (MgFeSi), used for modification of melted malleable iron. Ferrosilicon is also important as an additive to cast irons for controlling the initial content of silicon.
