In a cottage, the donor unit is generally deployed outside – for example, under the eaves or on a utility pole. Because it is more sensitive than your phone and is mounted higher up, it can usually detect signals that your phone can't. The coverage range of 15,000 to 50,000 square feet (2,000 to 4,600 square metres) is adequate for most cottages.
