SAND BLASTING ROOM
Our blast rooms are constructed from EPS panel and lined with 3mm insertion rubber on the walls and doors. The room will be fitted with one PA door at the opposite end to the double entry doors. Lighting consists of 320 Watt lights mounted in the ceiling.
This combination unit is specifically designed for abrasive media reclaiming and recycling. Media is collected at floor level in the under floorScrew Conveyors which deliver the spent media to the boot (base) of the Bucket Elevator. The buckets lift the abrasive to the top of the bucket elevator and discharge it through a chute to the in feed of the Air Wash Separator which is adjustable to suit all media from Steel Shot to Garnet Sand. Connected to the Air Wash is a dedicated Dust Collector. The ventilation airflow is used to pull the fine dust from the curtain of the Air Wash. Dust is collected, reverse pulsed cleaned from the cartridges and deposited in the Dust Collector Drum. Dust free media is gravity fed through a screen to remove coarse trash, Cleaned recycled Media is then stored in the Media Storage Hopper ready for recharging to the Blast Vessel.
Steel grit or garnet media is collected in troughs installed beneath the blast room floor positioned down each side of the blast room. A cross screw conveyor set in a trench transports the abrasive media across the blast room to the boot of the bucket elevator. The troughs incorporate a grate and screen to protect the screw conveyors and bucket elevators from large foreign objects. The media is fed to the bucket elevator.
Screw conveyors placed down each side of the blast room will recover approximately 90% of used abrasive without the need to sweep or blow abrasive into the recovery system. Depending on the application many facilities do not clear this area at all, as abrasive lying on the floor will migrate into the screw hoppers during the course of the blasting operation.
A multi - ply belt and steel bucket type elevator is fitted to convey the spent abrasive and contaminants to the Air Wash. Take up adjustment for the elevator belt is provided at the head pulley. The top & bottom pulleys are fitted with external mounted heavy-duty ball bearings. The buckets are pressed from heavy gauge steel. The head shaft of the conveyor is driven via a 1.5kW motor and reduction gear box. The top of the elevator is fitted with a removable hatch for inspection.
A baffle provided in the separator chamber assures an even distribution of abrasive across the full width of the separator. The abrasive will then fall in its natural angle of repose. An adjustable air dampener is provided to adjust the velocity of the ventilating air across the width of the falling abrasive. This allows the ventilating air to act on the full width of the thin evenly distributed abrasive curtain, thus pulling the useless fine materials to the refuse side of the separator. The reusable air washed abrasive then drops through an angled static screen removing coarse foreign particles from the abrasive. The clean re-usable abrasive falls by gravity into the storage hopper located below the separator.
Situated directly under the air wash outlet is the media main storage hopper. This fabricated hopper will store reclaimed media ready to charge the blast vessels. The hopper base is fitted with a valve for isolating the blast vessel for removal or maintenance if needed.
The air wash system utilizes airflow from a dedicated dust collector to clean the abrasive. The dust collector fan powers the Air Wash system. All dust like contaminants that are passed by the air wash are trapped in the cartridge filters. The cartridges are automatically reverse pulse cleaned. Dust is collected at the base of the unit which is sealed into the lid of a 200 litre refuse drum.
The dust collector is fitted with a manifold, valve and electronic pulse controller. Filter cartridges are serviced and inspected through an access door.
