Plants root promoter
1-Naphthaleneacetamide (NAD) 90% TC
NAD is a kind of Naphthyl-type plant growth regulator, the chemical structure as follows,
Formula: C12H11NO
Molecular Weight:185.23
CAS No. 86-86-2
Chemical Name: 1-Naphthaleneacetamide,
It’s developed by Union Carbide Agricultural Products Co. and Agri-pharm International Inc in 1950s. The other name is NAAm, NAD, the commercial name is Amid-Thim W, etc. The products comprise 8.4%WP, 10%WP.
Function: the technical 1-Naphthaleneacetamide is white odorless crystal. The melting point is 182-184.C. It is solute in the acetone, ethanol, and IPA,and sparing soluble in water, insoluble in carbon disulfide, kerosene, and diesel.
Toxicity: Acute oral LD50 for rats:1690mg/kg b.w. Acute dermal LD50 for rabbit:>2000mg/kg b.w. Not irritant to skin, but can cause the irreversible eye injury.
The NAD is absorbed through the stem, leaves of the plants, the conduction is slow, it can cause the forming of the peduncle absciss layer, therefore, it has an excellent effect on fruit thinning and keeping especially for apple and pear, also it can develop the roots system.
Application:
The NAD is an excellent apple, pear fruit thinning agent and other plants root promoter.
Apple | 25—50ppm | 2—2.5 weeks after blooming(after falling of petal) | whole plant spraying
|
pealr | 25—50ppm | 5—7 days after petal falling to complete falling | whole plant spraying
|
It is used for root developing on apple, pear, peach, grape and other horticulture plant, the formula as follows,
NAD0.018%+NAA0.002%+thio urea 0.093%
It also could be formulated with IBA for cut purpose.
Notes and Cautions:
1. When it is used for fruit thinning agent, the duration should be controlled. And the effect is related with temperature, so before promoting in large range, the trial experience is necessary.
2. This product is wide-used for the main ingredient root promoter in US and EU, there is no supporting data for the formula.
3. Wear protecting glasses when applying.
