Why does your baby need a sun hat?
1. A baby's skin is thinner and therefore more sensitive which means it will burn more easily.
2. Sunburn in babies and children is a key risk factor in melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer.
3. The sun's harmful UV rays can damage the eyes, contributing to cataracts and other eye diseases.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends. Babies under 6 months should only wear sunscreen on the face and back of the hands. To use a sunscreen made especially for children, with a Sun Protection Factor of 15+. To keep babies out of direct sunlight as much as possible and to keep them well-covered with protective clothing, when in the sun. To use hats with brims that shade baby’s scalp,eyes, ears, face, and neck, when in the sun.
