1. Treatment principle

CL15 CO₂ laser surgical system (below brief name CL15) adopts sealed off CO₂ laser and outputs unseen infrared laser. Its features are directive well and high energy density.

When the laser transmitted through focus lens, the high temperature produced by the focus spot can do gasification, cutting and cauterization to the target organ. If the laser not transmitted through the focus lens, the energy density is low, and it can do coagulation operation to the target organ.If the laser transmitted through beam expander, the energy density much lower, and it can do physical therapy irradiating.

2.1 laser machine

The laser machine is made of glass tube. The glass tube was filled with CO₂ gas. Rear-end of the glass tube is stick of total reflection lens. Front end of the glass tube is stick of output window lens. Both ends setting make up of the laser resonant cavity. Side face of the glass tube has electrode. When the laser machine electrode connects with high-tension current, the CO₂ gas is impelled and produces laser and the laser is sent out from the output window. There is cooling pipe inside of the laser machine and it getting cooling after water connected.

2.2 laser articulated arm

It consists of 7 joints and a metal tube. There are laser reflectors in the joints. Laser beam is outputted after reflecting for many times inside of the joints. The handle of the output ends has equipped with focus lens. The focus length is 100mm. The handle can equip with different lengths head knives. The different lengths are 40mm, 70mm, 80mm and 100mm. The distances between the end of the head knife and focus lens are 1F, 1.3F, 1.4F, and 1.6F. More far from the focus point, the light spot gets larger and the power density gets lower. For example, the 1.6F head knife, its light spot is 1.6 times of its focus light spot.

2.3 Power supply part

It consists of computer control& switch power supply. Change the current of the switch power can control the output power. Computer control parts make up of computer panel and control panel.

2.4 Cooling water circulation system

Laser gets cooling by inner circulating water. Water sent to laser tube by water pump, and water back to the water tank from the glass tube by flow controller. Before using, the laser should be added pure water by the input hole on the back cover and stop adding till the output hole gives out of water.

2.5 Indicative laser device

If need to use indicative laser in the operation can press A-BEAM key to make it turn to blue, and when the laser in READY status in the output end will has red laser as indication. If don’t need to use indicative laser, press A-BEAM key to make it turn to white, and when the laser output, the red laser will extinguish. If need the indicative laser shinning in the operation, press Spiccalo key is ok.

2.6 Laser control switch(footswitch)

The footswitch is drip– proof type, and it suitable to the laser room, but it don’t suitable to the operation room.

2.8 Cooling system protection

If the circulating cooling water appears errors, it will damage the laser, when the laser machine lacks of water or water temperature is over 45 °C, the computer will cut off the power supply and give out alarm sound.

2.9 Safety door chain

To insure laser operation safe, the laser room door should be close when operating. Connect the switch to the door chain socket, if the laser room door be opened, the laser stop output laser.

2.10 Light brake

It is a safety device. The light brake will be open when stepping down the footswitch to output laser, otherwise it is closed.

3. Application

It can do gasification, cauterization, cutting and solidification to human body tissue. Irradiate by enlarge lens to human body, it has the function as reduce inflammation, reduce pain, and physical therapy.

Contraindication: it mustn’t irradiate to eye. There should have stop bleeding measures during the cutting vessel operation.
