Do I need a SIM card to use the T6-L?

The quick answer to that is: No.
The T6-L can be used with a SIM card, OR connected to your landline, or both.
- Using a landline connection enables a basic interaction with your alarm system (by phone call).
- Using a SIM card (sold separately) enables a more advance interaction with your system (by phone call, SMS or app).
- Using both the SIM card and the landline connection offers an optimal security, as you always have a backup in case your landline or your cellular network is down.

Can I use my T6-L without the SIM card?

Yes

The T6-L Control Panel can be used either with a SIM card (GSM mode), plugged to your telephone landline (PSTN mode), or, for optimum security, both (connected to your telephone landline AND with a SIM card).

What is the benefit of using the T6-L Control Panel with a SIM card AND plugged to your landline?

For people willing to obtain the maximum level of security, you can use your T6-L Control Panel plugged to your landline and with a SIM card. So for example if an intruder cuts your telephone line, you would be informed by SMS in case the alarm system is triggered.

Alternatively, if for any reason your cellular network fails the day something happens in your home, you can still be informed by phone call thanks to the landline connection. So you are covered in one way or another.

What kind of SIM card shall I use?

The control panel of the T6-L can be used either in GSM mode (with a SIM card) or in PSTN mode (plugged to your telephone landline). In GSM mode, we recommend you to use a SIM card with an unlimited text and one-hour voice plan.

The SIM card must work on the GSM network (Ask your carrier for more information).

To purchase a SIM card, you do not need to purchase a new phone.

More and more mobile carriers offer “Bring Your Own Device” programs, which enable you to purchase only the SIM card with the plan you need.

Before purchasing your SIM card, make sure the latter is working on the GSM network. Attention: the control panel of the T6-L only supports regular SIM cards. It does not support Micro SIM and Nano SIM cards.

How can I restore the factory settings of my alarm system? 
Method 1
In the battery compartment at the back of the control panel, place the switch to “OFF”. Then press and hold the key [*] on your control panel while turning your alarm system on. Release the key [*] and type “123456”.

Method 2
Type your admin code and press the key [Enter] on the control panel to access the Setup menu (the menu is displayed on the LCD screen). In the menu, go to “SYSTEM SETTINGS”, then “RESET” and press the key “ENTER”.
Method 3
Send “0000” by SMS to your control panel. Attention, the SMS must be sent from a smart phone of which the number has been registered in the control panel.

How to set up the control panel? 
The control panel of your alarm system can be set up from the control panel menu (the menu is displayed on the LCD screen), by SMS, or with the app. The app is available for download on Google Play and the App Store.

What is the code by default for my alarm system? 
By default, the user code is 1234. By default, the admin code is 123456.

How can I control my alarm system? 
Your alarm system can be controlled on the control panel, by RFID tag, by SMS or on the app available for download on Google Play and on the App Store.

How can I insert a SIM card in the control panel? 
Insert the SIM card in the space provided, in the battery compartment, chip toward the control panel. The T6-L control panel only supports regular SIM cards. It does not support Micro SIM and Nano SIM cards.

What are the zones ? 
Each detector can be assigned to one of the 4 categories of zones: Normal zone, Home Mode zone, Delay zone or 24h zone. The zones enable the detectors to behave differently when the system is armed, disarmed or triggered:

Normal zone
When the control panel is armed (or in Home Mode), if a detector assigned to the Normal zone is triggered, the siren rings out. When the system is disarmed, the detector does trigger the alarm.

Home Mode zone
The detectors assigned to the Home Mode zone do not trigger the alarm when the system is armed in Home Mode.
We recommend you to assign the motion detectors to the Home Mode zone, so that they will not trigger the alarm even when the system is armed in Home Mode. The door/window contacts will however trigger the alarm (provided they have not been assigned to the Home Mode zone too).

Delay zone
The detectors assigned to the Delay zone will only trigger the alarm after a delay set (counting from the arming or disarming of the alarm system). This enables you to arm or disarm you alarm system from the control panel without triggering the alarm.
We recommend you to assign the detectors located in the entrance of your home to the Delay zone. The delay before the arming or disarming of the detectors assigned to the Delay zone can be changed, please refer to the user manual of your alarm system.

24h zone
The detectors assigned to the 24h zone trigger the alarm in any circumstance, whether the system is armed or not. We recommend you to assign smoke detectors to the 24h zone.

Assigning a detector to a zone is made at the time you register the detector in the control panel. The choice of the zone for the detector is the step following the type of detector to register.
