How to Select Dredging Pipeline Floaters?
The polyethylene floaters are usually used for the dredging projects, land reclamation projects in the world. They are the ideal floating material for pipelines.
When choosing the floaters, we must know the following points:
1. Buoyancy: usually the buoyancy need to be 30% higher than the pipelines weights(including 1.3 ration slurries). When the pipeline working, the floaters above the water surface should be about 1/4 of the height of steel pipes.
2. Weight: no less 3-5% than the ordered goods. The weight of the floaters is related to the hull weight and the foam’s density and volume. The foam density should be about 35kg/m³.
3. Plastify strength: the plasticized well floaters will have a flat and smooth surface without obvious particles, with best tensile strength
4. Foam’s density: about 35kg/m³,with tensile strength of 0.2 Mpa. There is a little bit flexibility without stick and crisp. The floaters have such properties will be the best and most durable floaters.
