Playing materials

-4 magnetic laminated cardboard cards(23cmX33cm),depicting 4 animals(ladybird,fish,turtle,snail).Each animal is divided into 6 zones.Each zone is a different colour and contains an outlined space for tokens numbered from 1 to 6

-96 magnetic cardboard counter in 6 colours

-2 wooden dice: 1 dice with colours and 1 with spots

-1 teacher's leaflet

Pedagogical approach

a)Warm-up activities

-Recognising and naming colours

-Sorting tokens by colours

-Recognising and naming the number of spots on the dice,counting,enumerating up to 6

b)How to play

-Initially,an adult should lead this activity

-Each child is given a card,the tokens are sorted on the "storage" cards

-The players take turns rolling the 2 dice and complete their cards by following the 2 insturctions given on the dice(number and color).If a player rolls the same combination more than once,he passes his turn or plays again depending on the age group.

-The objective is for each player to fill their game card completely.

c)Remarks

Certain combinations do not correspond to a space on the cards (1 and 6 red,1 and 6 yellow,3 and 4 green,3 and 4 blue,2 and 5 orange,2 and 5 pink); in such a case,the player rolls the dice again.
