What is an LEDS?

LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are quickly becoming the standard in the lighting industry because of their efficiency and incredible light output. An LED itself is a small semi-conductor that produces light when a voltage is applied. LED lights (or fixtures) include multiple LEDs arranged to disperse their light in a desired pattern; for instance, a bulb may direct light in all directions, while a parking lot light directs light downward only.
