EverExceed tubular OPzS Range series batteries are 20 year stationary batteries and were developed for utility, telecom and general purpose applications. They are distinguished by their economical design, lead selenium tubular plate design, and their high tolerance to cycling.

The EverExceed tubular lead selenium cells provide the best possible compromise in lead acid plate technology. By utilizing a proportion of selenium in the grid alloy, a dense fine grain structure is produced. This alloy is extremely corrosion-resistant and virtually eliminates inter-granular corrosion-one of the most common causes of cell failure. A lead selenium cell, therefore, combines the advantages of both lead calcium and lead antimony cells while exhibiting none of the disadvantage.

-40°C(-40°F) to +70°C (+158°F)
Ideal Operating temperature range:
+20°C (+68°F) to +35°C (+95°F)
Storage time from a fully charged condition:
12 months at 20°C~25°C / 68°F~77°F.
Could up to 5 years if in sealed dry charged condition.
For each 9°C / 15°F rise, reduce the storage time by half.

Q: How can you tell if a VRLA battery has been damaged by under- or overcharging?

A: The only way is with a load test. Use the same procedure you would use with a wet cell battery:

a. Recharge if the open circuit voltage is below 75%.

b. If adjustable, set the load at 1⁄2 the CCA rating or three times the 20 hour rate.

c. Apply the load for 15 seconds. The voltage should stabilize above 9.6 volts while on load.

d. If below 9.6 volts, recharge and repeat test.

e. If below 9.6 volts a second time, replace the battery.

Q: How long does it take to recharge a fully discharged VRLA battery?

A: A specific time is difficult to determine because recharging depends on the following factors: depth of discharge; temperature; size and efficiency of the charger; age and condition of the battery.
