1074/1084 EN42 Spring Steel

YaoTeng Steel are suppliers of EN42 hardened & tempered strip. Annealed EN42 spring steel is supplied in plate, sheet and strip.  Hardened and tempered EN42 is supplied in coil, which can be slit and cut to length or sheared as individual pieces to your exact sizes.

EN42 is suitable for a wide variety of spring applications including flat springs, clutches, knives, doctor blades, saw blades, agricultural tools, wood cutting saws, shims, knives, blades, shims, washers, masonry tools.

When heat treating EN42 temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times etc. will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities. Please consult your heat treatment provider for full guidance on heat treatment of spring steels.
