Boron Nitride is a synthetic technical ceramic material. It has out-standing thermal characteristics; high thermal conductivity and excellent thermal shock resistance and is stable in inert and reducing atmospheres up to 2000 C, and in oxidizing atmospheres to 900 C. The special property of Boron Nitride is that it is un-wetting with molten metal. In its solid form, Boron Nitride can easily be machined to close tolerances in virtually any shape. After machining, it is ready for use without additional heat treating or firing operations.
The application of Boron Nitride includes electric parts - heat sinks, substrates, coil forms, boron nitride wafers in silicon semiconductor processing, vacuum metlting crucible, microwave tubes, horizontal caster break rings, high temperature furnace fixtures and supports etc. |
