> Without insulation,heat is able to leave the silicon heater from the side not attached to the drum. Since the drum is being heated,it will most have a higher temperature than the air surrounding the drum heater,therfore leaning to potentially more heat loss on the outside than heat gained into drum. The use of an insulated silicone frum heater helps prevent that heat loss and effectively increase actual heating power by 100% or more. The insulation also helps maintain heat within the drum,by not allowing it to easily escape the drum where the heater is attached.

> Ideal for heating up waste vegetable oil for settling or processing biodiesel. This heater is controlled by an adjustable thermostat. Flexible springs are used to attach the silicone heater around various diameter drums. The springs can stretch up to about 3inches. For plastic drums,it is recommended to keep the thermostat set below 100°C.
