Coated glass (heat reflective glass) is coated by horizontal magnetically controlled high rate sputtering. It can effectively control the transmission of visible light and low infrared. 

Coated glass has the higher reflecting power against the sunlight with the reflection ratio up to 20%~40%, so it can save the energy consumption of the indoor air-conditioners and at the same time it has good shading property, so it makes the indoor light a little softer and more pleasant.  

Low-E glass is also called the Low-emittance (Low-E) coated glass and is made by the method of vacuum magnetron sputtering by evenly plating the glass surface with metal or metallic oxide layers, thus forming the low-emittance coating and producing the coated glass. 

Low-E glass is a kind of green, energy-conservative and environment-friendly glass product. The surface emissivity of the ordinary glass is something like 0.84 but the surface emissivity of the Low-E glass is less than 0.25. The Low-emittance coating with the centesimal thickness of the human hair enjoys a much higher surface emissivity against the far-infrared heat radiation and can flash back more than 80% of the far-infrared heat radiation. However, the ordinary transparent float glass and heat-absorbing glass can only flash back about 12% of the far-infrared heat radiation, so it follows that the Low-E glass plays functions well in terms of its good diaphragming of the penetration of the heat radiation. In winter, it can reflect back the majority of the heat radiation of the indoor heating and other objects into the room like a thermal reflecting mirror, thus saving the expenses for the winter heating. In summer, it can hold back the heat radiation from the outdoor ground and the surrounding buildings into the room, thus saving the expenses for the air-conditioning. The visible light reflectivity of Low-E glass is generally less than 11%, rather similar to that of the ordinary white glass but much lower than the ordinary solar control coated glass, thus it can prevent the reflected light pollution.

Instruction for coated glass installation 

1. Cutting and processing 

2. It is divided into the light coated surface and glass surface. When the coated glass is cut into small pieces, the glass surface shall be put onto the desk and the cutting desk should be kept in a clean condition free from any foreign articles; the notch at the rim of the glass is required to be straight and smooth.   

3. Storage and transportation: when the coated glass is transported to the buyer, each piece of glass shall be spaced out by the foamed plastic paper and the coated glass surface can be directly touched; the coated glass shall be placed in the rooms with dry air, good ventilation and no eroding gas, but it is strongly prohibited from being stored in the open air. 

4. Installation and Construction 

(1) After the cement, mortar and coating project is completed, the coated glass shall be then installed; but if the coated glass is installed facing the outside of the room, the coated surface shall face indoor wall. 

(2)  The surrounding rims of the glass shall be sealed with the elastic materials and the glass adhesive shall be neutral.
