5. Posts of steel palisade fencing

Available with welded fish plates or slotted,  complete  with  loose  fish  plates that can be concreted-in,  

base plated for bolting down or cranked.Posts can be vertically extended to take barbed

orazor wire.Posts are generally 102 x 44mm RSJ (or 100×55),increasing to 127 x 76mm,

recommended for fences above 2.7m.

6. Panels of steel palisade fencing

Standard panel sizes of 2750mm (post centres) are freely available at short notice from Steel

Palisade manufacturer’s stock of all standard heights.  Panels can be easily raked

to allow for most site conditions.

Fixings

All fixings are anti-vandal and are generally supplied hot dip galvanised.

 

 

7. Advantages of steel palisade fencing

While D section palisade fencing provides effective medium level of security, a W section steel  palisade fence provides

more  protection  and  offers an  even greater  resistance  to  attack.  This  is  due to the simple nature of how the profile

interacts with the horizontal rail, as shown below:

 

D Pale Vs W Pale

 D Pales—Available in 2.5mm, 3mm and 3.5mm

Use longer bolts , with bolt heads that may be exposed to attack. Plus there is flexibility between the pale fixing

and the horizontal rail.

 W Pales— Available in 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm.

Use shorter  bolts and the pale sits flush against the horizontal rail. No flexibility provides a more secure fixing.

 

 8. Basic Specifications of  steel palisade fencing

 

Two horizontal rails are used as standard for palisade fences up to 3m in height.Additional rails can be fitted onto fences of

any height, but above 3m high, this will be necessary to ensure the integrity of the fence. The 3rd rail is usually fixed at the

bottom of the fence to provide the additional rigidity, without providing a climbing option.

Triple pointed security pales are usually supplied as standard above 1.8m high,depending on the specific requirements,and

safe notched and rounded tops are standard below that height and for schools and other applications where  security needs

to be tempered with safety concerns. The other profiles are available upon request.
