1 Central Cloud Management (CCM)

GENEW GAX5000 series WAC support Layer2 network of local management Fit AP, or through Layer3 IP network to realize the CCM (Central Cloud Management). By centralize the WAC in the Data Centre facility, AP implementation comply Zero-Configuration setup, it simplify the configuration rich features and complicated setup of the Fit AP by sending all policy setup from WAC to AP. The management of the WiFi system becomes easy and effective, managing thousands of AP with hundred thousands of users thru the single GUI from WAC, or Genewview NMS. WAC support Traffic Central Forwarding, of Local Forwarding to satisfy different backhaul network environment, fully utilize the network resources.

2 Self-Optimizing Network (SON), Channel and RF management

SON feature guarantee GAX5000 WAC can monitor the network environment in real time, automatically select the best configuration of the RF parameter, Power of the RF signal, WiFi channel selection to minimize interference effect, that downgrade the throughput and user experience. In case one AP is failed, WAC will automatically adjust the RF power of neighbor AP so as to provide similar WiFi coverage.

3 End-to-End Security

GAX5000 series WAC support secure authentication by mixing of different types of standard, user authentication can base on MAC, 802.1X, Portal or other types of authentication method. For the data security and integrity,GAX5000 WAC comply with WAPI, WPA/WPA2 and 802.11i standard. Internal WIDS feature support Rogue AP or Ad-Hoc machine potential threat.

4 RADIUS AAA and Portal Server

GENEWGAX5000 series WAC support built-in Internal Portal Server. It save the investment of users to build separate Portal service for portal type authentication.GAX5000 can work with standard Radius server, or GAM (GENEW Access Management) system that can provide Guest Login, Billing and other advance user management function.

5 Reliability and Redundancy

GENEWGAX5000 series WAC support 1+1. Both WAC can work under Host and Standby mode running under VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol). Failure of the Host WAC will automatically switch over to the standby WAC. Since AP connect back to the core with single IP to the dual core under VRRP, the switch over of the AP from Host to Standby is transparent, and WiFi service and connectivity is not interrupted.

6 Portal 1+1 redundancy

The WAC 1+1 redundancy mode greatly improve the high-reliability of portal authentication. All the user authentication information will be synchronized between the 2 ACs; if the master AC failed, all the connected users will be transferred to backup AC; As all the authentication data has been synchronized, user experience will not be affected;

7 DHCP Server Redundancy

Under the WAC 1+1 Redundancy mode, it support the DHCP server redundancy at the same time. When user get the IP address from the Host WAC, the Standby WAC will synchronize the IP address pool. During the switch over of Host WAC to standby WAC, it can avoid the overlapping of user IP address.

8 Seamless Roaming

There will be roaming across different AP under the same WAC, or different AP under different WAC. GENEWpatent CUBE technology support roaming in both scenarios described above. User’s handheld can roam across differentGAX5000 in different Subnet under Layer 2 or Layer 3 network. The switch over time is less than 50us and this can satisfy voice and video type of roaming application.

9 Smart Load Sharing

GAX5000 can perform load sharing function base on the number of users and traffic flow to determine the network configuration. If one AP connect with one user generate larger traffic flow than one AP with 10 users, do we need to force some users from the higher user density AP to a lower one? To maximize the network resources, it is important to perform Smart Load Sharing function base on 2 parameters.
