Edible oil refinery plant refers to a series of refining processes that can remove phospholipids, FFA, pigment, off-flavor and other impurities in the oil.
The process of removing these impurities after oil extraction section is called oil refining. The crude oil obtained either from oil expellers or vegetable oil extraction plant contains impurities, which must be removed to make the oil edible, more palatable and stable against rancidity upon storage.
Usually there are two methods in edible oil refinery plant, one is chemical refining, the other is physical refining. Physical and chemical refining is defined according to the technology used. Physical refining means the removal of gum in oil via the process of degumming, a special method for removing FFA in the process of deodorization by steam. Chemical refining, however, means chemically removing FFA (acid-base neutralization). Gum and soap produced is then separated by centrifuges.

Product details:
1.Acid reaction process of the edible oil refinery plant
Oil temperature can be adjusted by screw plate heat exchanger. When the temperature is heated to about 80℃, mixing about 85% food grade phosphoric acid into acid reaction tank for reacting. In the tank, most non-hydrated phospholipid transfer into hydrated Phospholipid.
2.Neutralization process of the edible oil refinery plant
In neutralization section, adding alkali liquor with appropriate concentration into the degummed oil which have proper temperature, then degummed oil enters into the centrifugal mixer for mixing. In order to achieve best mixing effect, the mixture is fed into the neutralization tank to stay for enough time. In this process, alkali neutralize the free fatty acids and some excess phosphoric acids, then soapstock is formed. Then the oil and soap mixture is pumped into the heater and is heated to 85~90℃, and enter into centrifuge to separate the oil and soap (or oil and gum). After separating, the soapstock (or oil foot) enter into oil foot tank, then pump into salting-out tank to separate part of the oil.
3.Washing process of the edible oil refinery plant
Neutralized oil come from neutralization separator, still contains about 500 ppm soap. In order to reduce the residual soap content, add about 10% of hot water into the oil. During the washing, hot water will absorb the soap and other impurities in oil, then soap and impurities are separated in washing separator.
4.Vacuum drying section of the edible oil refinery plant
The neutralization and washing oil come from the washing separator still contains some water which is adverse to the oil stability. In order to remove the water, oil is sent into the vacuum dryer when the temperature is still at about 110-120 ℃. After drying, oil is pumped into bleaching section directly.
5.Bleaching process of the edible oil refinery plant
The main purpose of this process is to remove the pigments in crude oil and the residual soap in the neutralization oil. The oil is sent into vacuum bleaching tower after heating to 105 ℃. When oil enters into the bleaching tower, it will mix with the bleaching earth in the proportioning mixer. The metering of the bleaching earth is controlled by a programming controller and the metering unit is installed on the proportioning mixer.The bleaching earth is conveyed by air, and it is conveyed to the temporary storage tank at the top of the bleaching tower by suction type dust removal system to supply bleaching earth for the dosing machine.
6. Filteration of the oil refinery plant
Miscella mixed by oil and clay from bleaching tower is pumped into decolorizing filter, then enters into fine filter, in which clay and fixed impurities are blocked. And the filtering substance (bleached oil) is transferred into storage tank of bleached oil. There are two bleaching filters in this system, one of the bleaching filter is always in the state of filtering, another is in the state of emptying and cleaning state.
7.Deodorization process of the oil refinery plant
Deodorization process aims to remove the FFA and low molecular compounds in bleached oil. Entering into the deodorization process, the flow of bleached oil is controlled by a flow controller, and the oil is heated to250-260℃ through a series of heat exchanger, then the temperature can reach to the condition of deodorizing.
When deodorizing, odor material in oil will be removed under the condition of high temperature and high vacuum. Distilled fatty acid gas is discharged from the top of the deodorization tower, then collected by fatty acid catcher, thus, the environmental pollution will be reduced.
