Description of POM
POM is a smooth, shiny, hard and dense material. Its color is yellow or white, the thin-walled part is translucent. It is easy to burn from the fire and continued to burn when left the fire. The top of the
flame is yellow, and bottom is blue,there’s melt dripping, and a strong irritant smell of formaldehyde, like fish
stench. POM is a white powder, generally not transparent, stainability, the density is 1.41-1.43 g / cm3, the molding shrinkage is 1.2-3.0% , molding temperature is 170-200 °C, drying conditions is
80-90 °C and 2 hours. POM long-term heat resistance is not high, but it can reach up to 160 °C in short term. It can be used for a long time under the temperature of -40 °C -100 °C temperature range. POM is easily decomposed and its decomposed temperature is 240 degrees.
Decomposition will generate irritating and corrosive gas.So the mold needs to be made by corrosion resistance
materials.
