The first consideration, however is uniformity of surface, even though a special kind of non-uniform surface actually produces a more even illumination. The first requisite for a perfectly flat screen is a sturdy stretching frame of good quality. It is always a good idea to go backstage at regular intervals to check the tightness of the screen.
