To address the tendency toward this type of access network, Huawei HONET UA5000 multi-service access product integrates traditional voice, VoIP, private line, PBX, video, and multimedia services for subscribers. It provides GE, FE, E1, GPON, and EPON network ports for transmitting services upstream. Huawei HONET UA5000 can be used in scenarios such as integrated access, broadband access, and enterprise access.
Features
Smooth Evolution
By supporting V5, H.248, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the UA5000 is adaptable to PSTN, NGN, and IMS networks and can also be used in gigabit and Ethernet passive optical networks.
Traditional Services Retained
The UA5000 provides all service ports required for a traditional network (including the POTS, ISDN BRA/PRA, E1, TDM G.SHDSL, V.24/V.35, E&M, FXO/FXS, R2, and two/four-wire audio ports). As a result, all traditional services are retained when evolving from a TDM network to an IP network, and subscribers do not have to change terminals.
The UA5000 supports various traditional private services on a TDM/PSTN network – as well as IP semi-permanent connection (SPC) and pseudo wire emulation edge-to-edge (PWE3) features – on an all IP-based network. This ensures that the UA5000 supports all traditional private services on PSTN, NGN, IMS, and FTTx networks without affecting services during network evolution.
The UA5000 provides a 32-port combo board that has the functions of the POTS, ADSL2+ and SPL boards. The UA5000 with a combo board requires less distribution cables and main distribution frames (MDF), which translates into less time on wire seating and easier operation and maintenance. The UA5000 supports: 1) the ADSL2+ and VDSL2 technologies to achieve a maximum transmission rate of 100Mbit/s to the desktop; 2) EFM G.SHDSL 4-wire bonding technology to meet enterprise user requirements for high-speed service access; 3) Internet Group Management Protocol Versions 2 and 3 (IGMPv2 and v3) to provide MVLAN and IPTV services, which have become new sources of revenue for operators.

The UA5000 is the first multi-service access device in the world to meet the European Union's CoC energy-saving requirements.
With an optimized design and low power consumption components, on average, UA5000 combo and ADSL service boards consume 10% less power than the similar boards, and 64-port POTS boards consume 20% less power than the industry-standard 32-port POTS board.
In addition, the UA5000 uses intelligent fan speed adjustment technology, which reduces fan power consumption more than 50%.
