OSN6800&3800
In addition to service convergence, transmission, and cross-connection, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 supports Layer 3 dynamic traffic diversion (optical cross-connection, ODU cross-connection, and the integrated LAN switch) and integrates the ASON/GMPLS control plane. The product features manageability like SDH/SONET and the large capacity and long distance transmission of WDM systems. With advanced technologies, such as ROADMs, wavelength tunable optical modules, ASON/GMPLS, 40G, the LAN Switch, and ODB/eDQPSK, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 is flexible in architecture and suitable for broadband transport.
Features
Transparent access: The OptiX OSN 6800/3800 employs the ITU-T digital wrapper protocol that allows transparent access of various protocols, such as IP/Ethernet, ATM, SDH, and ESCON, and services at different bit rates such as 16 Mbit/s, 5 Gbit/s, 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, and 100 Gbit/s.
With multiprotocol wavelength technology, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 can transmit services of various types (voice, data, storage, and video), in line with the evolution from TDM to Ethernet/data services.
Flexible grooming: the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 supports the innovative three-level traffic grooming infrastructure, which integrates dynamic optical cross-connections (multi-dimensional ROADM), flexible electrical-layer grooming (any ADM), and embedded Layer 2 data processing.
Manageability: Apart from operability, manageability, maintainability, and configurability capabilities, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 has service management functions as well, including bandwidth management, service convergence, and end-to-end detection.
ASON network: Traditional WDM networks were statically configured by maintenance engineers on the NMS. Manual intervention is still needed to satisfy certain requests, such as connection set-up or tear-down, which results in a long response time. The ASON allows for automatic establishment/release of switching and connections to achieve quick service provisioning.
