Application & Market
Paper Industry
Calcium Carbonate is used as filler in paper because they are cheaper than wood fiber. In terms of
market volume, Calcium Carbonate is the most important type of fillers currently used. Printing and
writing paper can contain 10–20% calcium carbonate. In the paper industry it is valued worldwide
for its high brightness and light scattering characteristics, and is used as an inexpensive filler to make
bright opaque paper. In North America, calcium carbonate has begun to replace kaolin in the
production of glossy paper. Europe has been practicing this as alkaline papermaking or acid-free
papermaking for some decades.
Paint Industry
Calcium carbonate is widely used as an extender in paints, in particular matte emulsion paint where
typically 30% by weight of the paint is either chalk or marble
Plastic Industry
Calcium Carbonate is also a popular filler in plastics. Some typical examples include around 15 to 20%
loading of chalk in unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) drain pipe, 5 to 15% loading of stearate
coated chalk or marble in uPVC window profile. PVC cables can use calcium carbonate at loadings of
up to 70 phr (parts per hundred parts of resin) to improve mechanical properties (tensile strength and
elongation) and electrical properties (volume resistivity). Polypropylene compounds are often filled
with calcium carbonate to increase rigidity, a requirement that becomes important at high use
temperatures .Here the percentage is often 20–40%. It also routinely used as a filler in thermosetting
resins (sheet and bulk molding compounds) and has also been mixed with ABS, and other ingredients,
to form some types of compression molded "clay" poker chips.
Other Industry
Construction Industry: Calcium carbonate is critical to the construction industry, both as a building
material in its own right (e.g. marble), and as an ingredient of cement. It contributes to the making of
mortar used in bonding bricks, concrete blocks, stones, roofing shingles, rubber compounds, and tiles.
Calcium carbonate decomposes to form carbon dioxide and lime, an important material in making
steel, glass, and paper.
Ceramic Industry: Calcium carbonate is added to a wide range of trade and does it yourself adhesives,
sealants, and decorating fillers. Ceramic tile adhesives typically contain 70 to 80% limestone. In
ceramics/glazing applications, calcium carbonate is known as whiting, and is a common ingredient for
many glazes in its white powdered form.
Animal Food Industry: Ground calcium carbonate is your ideal calcium choice for your next animal
feed or nutrition supplement formulation to achieve optimal health for farm animals and household
pets.
Health and Dietary Application
Calcium carbonate is widely used medicinally as an inexpensive dietary calcium supplement or gastric
antacid. It may be used as a phosphate binder for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia (primarily in
patients with chronic renal failure). It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as an inert filler for
tablets and other pharmaceuticals.
Calcium carbonate is used in the production of toothpaste and has seen a resurgence as a food
preservative and color retainer, when used in or with products such as organic apples or food.
Environmental Application
CaCO3 can be added to neutralize the effects of acid rain in river ecosystems. Currently calcium
carbonate is used to neutralize acidic conditions in both soil and water. Calcium carbonate is also used
in flue gas desulfurisation applications eliminating harmful SO2 and NO2 emissions from coal and
other fossil fuels burnt in large fossil fuel power station

Introduction
Huu Nghi Calcium Carbonate Powder Factory now is an entity oriented high-tech joint venture with
registered capital of $20 million since 2001. The company is one of the first enterprises in Vietnam that
devoting to production and study of super fine calcium carbonate, of which products are widely use in the
fields of plastics, rubber, paper, paints, adhesive, sealant, oil ink, pharmaceutical and food. The annual
capacity is over 100,000 tons of calcium carbonate products. We also have an R & D center with an area of
2000 square meters, equipped with Europe-originated testing facilities including Malven, Minota, pilot plant
and testing lines for various applications.
In September of 2003, our Company was awarded ISO9001:2000 by DVN and QUACERT. Since
then, we have upgraded our system and acquired ISO 9001:2008 since 2012.
Our products material is from mine of Mong Son Marble Deposit, an existing incharge of marble
deposit on Thac Ba Lake in Yen Bai Province, S.R. VietNam. Mong Son deposit is proud to be one of a few
purest and whiteness marble deposit in Asia. Mined materials are the pure marble, estimated the best of
Southeast Asia and Asia in general. The chemical composition and physical properties of the marbles satisfy
demands of many industrial applications.

Question: How do you control quality"

Answer: We have modern lab with Mastersize Micro from England which analyse the particle size of granules 0.03~300 µm. Furthermore, the whiteness testing machine MINOLTA from Japan will give immediate results.

And we control quality closely by checking every 4 hours.
