Lean your body forward slowly(the center of gravity), balance scooter will move forward.                     

Braking, Driving Backward                                                                                  

Driving backward is not recommended for the driver's safety, because it is hard for you to see behind when driving .Turning radius of balance scooter in zero, which you can easily achieve in a continuous spin around 360 degrees on the spot.                                                  

When you drive forward in a straight line and you want to slow down or stop, you can lean backward or squat down (the center of gravity backward). Lean slowly or smoothly backward is helpful for slowing down and stop ping safely.
