Leather that acquires a beautiful gloss with wear
Mesh-woven leather
Woven with attention to the smallest detail
The outer mesh of the bag is made from kip leather. Kip, also referred to as cowhide, is a leather made from the hides of cows between six months and two years of age, to which we apply mixed tanning (tanning chrome) and dye finishing.
|
The final leather is produced at great expense in time and effort, using carefully tanned kip leather and applying dye finishing to the surface of the leather. Leather made this way may be scratched or lose its color, yet the scratches will fade with wear, while contact with the oil of hands and with water (rain) will merely increase its gloss. Even with the passage of time it can keep its original beauty, luster, softness, and suppleness. |
For the material of the mesh part of the bag,the leather is thinned to less than one millimeter in thickness and cut evenly. The leather strips are carefully woven together by a craftsman to create a single large sheet of leather that is fixed in place by glue. In a mesh pattern the thickness of the leather is doubled, making it twice as stronger, while processing of the core material prevents it from disfiguring and keeps the contents from leaking out. In addition the edges are finished by being polished and painted repeatedly. The leather areas are crafted in a simple yet high-quality manner, with careful attention given to the smallest details such as the polishing and stitching. |
The outer side is made of smooth leather, and has a striped pattern. |
