Note:
The clock is pre-set to chime hourly between the hours of 6am and 9pm and silent from 10pm to 5am as far as setting the time you take all the batteries out then you set the clock to 5:45 which is setting it at 5:45 AM then insert the 2 AA batteries for the bird chime first then the one AA for the clock movement. After putting the batteries in turn the dial clockwise to the local time the bird chime will sould while setting the time, so it will go 6AM, 7AM and so forth. And it states in the instructions that if the silent mode does not operate correctly.please remove the batteries and repeat the steps.
