What is crane rail?

Crane rail, what is crane rail? Look at its name. It means steel rails worked as runway. The track supported by the runway beams on which the crane travels.

Normally, rails are attached to the top of the runway beam of top running cranes. The wheels of the crane run on the rail. Crane rails connect with rail bolts or hold down fasteners for easier installation and adjustments. Crane rials significantly reduce friction, providing for smooth crane travel. They are extremely durable due to high metal hardness properties and will typically outlast other common rail systems.

When it comes to port crane rail services or any industrial application requiring efficient material handling, they especially required exceptional load-bearing capacity and unmatched durability. So, the production of high qualified crane rail is quite strictly. Signum Rail can supply qu70 qu80 qu100 qu120 crane rail with assured quality and much competitive price which will save your cost and time. We also offer steel clamps and clips for the crane rail systems.

Differences of crane rail and common steel rail

Crane rail is not similar to steel rails that used in metro tracks or high speed railway tracks. It has its own material, dimensions, standard, and sizes. Compared with heavy rail or light rail, the height of crane rail is low, its head width is wider, and its waist size is also bigger.

Important details of crane rail you may know

The straightness of the track line, the rail gauge, and the height difference between the two rails have a great influence on the running performance of the crane, so it must be installed according to the accuracy required by the specification.

The rails should be securely fastened to prevent sliding along the foundation.

During the use, the track may be deformed, and the rail head is easy to wear. Therefore, the rail and the foundation should be delectably connected by rail bolts or other rail fasteners as much as possible for adjustment and replacement.
