Product Description
Duplex stainless steel, refers to ferrite and austenite accounted for about 50% each, generally the content of the less phase is required to reach at least 30%.
It has both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel characteristics, compared with ferrite, higher plasticity, toughness, no room temperature brittleness, resistance to intercrystalline corrosion and welding performance are significantly improved, but also maintain ferrite stainless steel brittleness of 475℃ and high thermal conductivity, with superplasticity and other characteristics. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, the strength and resistance to intercrystalline corrosion and chloride stress corrosion are significantly improved. Duplex stainless steel is a kind of nickel - saving stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance.
Used in oil refining, chemical fertilizer, papermaking, petroleum, chemical industry, etc.

DSS 2205 is a nitrogenous composite stainless steel consisting of 22% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen. High strength, good impact toughness, good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion.

At slightly higher temperatures, the 254SMO duplex stainless steel also has high resistance to crevice corrosion in seawater. The corrosion resistance of 254SMO in acidic solutions and oxidized halide solutions such as paper bleaching is comparable to that of nickel and titanium alloys with the highest corrosion resistance.Due to its high nitrogen content, the 254SMO has higher
mechanical strength than other types of austenitic stainless steel, as well as high ductility and impact strength as well as good weldability.

2507 duplex steel has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion, and is used in the oil and gas industry.
S32760 duplex steel has strong strength and corrosion resistance, and is mainly used in chemical processing, petrochemical and
submarine equipment.
Compared with austenitic stainless steel, advantages:
1) The yield strength is more than twice higher than ordinary austenitic stainless steel, and has enough plastic toughness required for molding. The wall thickness of tanks or pressure vessels made of duplex stainless steel is 30-50% less than that of the commonly used austenite, which helps to reduce the cost.
2) Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, especially in the environment containing chlorine ions.
3) The corrosion resistance of 2205 duplex stainless steel, the most widely used in many media, is better than that of ordinary 316L austenitic stainless steel, and super duplex stainless steel has extremely high corrosion resistance, and in some media, such as acetic acid, formic acid can even replace high alloy austenitic stainless steel, and even corrosion resistance alloy.
4) Compared with the austenitic stainless steel with the same alloy content, the austenitic stainless steel has good local corrosion resistance.
5) Lower linear expansion coefficient than austenitic stainless steel, close to carbon steel, suitable for carbon steel connection, such as the production of composite plates or linings.
Compared with austenitic stainless steel, disadvantages:
1) The universality and versatility of the application is not as good as that of austenitic stainless steel, for example, the service temperature must be controlled below 250 degrees Celsius.
2) Its plastic toughness is lower than the austenitic stainless steel, cold, hot processing technology and forming performance than the austenitic stainless steel.
3) The presence of medium temperature brittle zone requires strict control of the heat treatment and welding process system to avoid the appearance of harmful phase and damage to performance.
Compared with ferrite stainless steel, advantages:
1) The comprehensive mechanical properties are better than ferrite stainless steel, especially the plastic toughness, not as sensitive to brittleness as ferrite stainless steel.
2) Local corrosion resistance is better than ferritic stainless steel.
3) The performance of cold processing and cold forming is much better than that of ferritic stainless steel.
4) The welding performance is much better than that of ferritic stainless steel.
disadvantages: Relatively high price
*Storage: Pay attention to moisture, dust, oil, lubricating oil, as well as surface rust, or poor welding corrosion resistance.When water is immersed between the film and the steel substrate, the corrosion rate is faster than that without the film.Warehouse storage should be placed in a clean, dry and easy to open the air, to maintain the original packaging state, the stainless steel film should avoid direct light, film should be periodic inspection, if the film deterioration (film life of 6 months) should be replaced immediately, if the packing material when pad paper, in order to prevent surface corrosion should be
immediately removed pad paper.
