Summary of Hulled Sesame Seed Processing

Hulled Sesame Processing Line is designed to peel off the husk of sesame seed with dry method, the complete hulled sesame line begins from raw sesame, ends at hulled sesame with nice white color. Such advanced sesame hulling technology is high efficiency and premium hulled result.

Sesame seed is small in size, the form and color are vary due to thousands of varieties now known. Typically, sesame seeds are about 3 to 4 millimeters long by 2 millimeters wide and 1 millimeter thick, ovate shape, slightly flattened and somewhat thinner. The weight of sesame seeds is between 20~40 milligrams. The seed hull is strained seed and hard to remove.

Sesame seeds come in many colors depending on the cultivar harvested. The most traded variety of sesame is off-white colored. Other common colors are buff, tan, gold, brown, reddish, gray and black.

Those husk/hull(skin) of sesame seed is removed hence we call it as Hulled Sesame Seed, as most nutritious seeds, Hulled Sesame Seeds are extensively used in breads, burgers, sauces, cereals, crackers, spreads, drinks, granola, candies, soups & various other bakery and confectionary products to enrich its taste and nutritional values.

As well-known Sesame Seed is one of highest oil content crop, if with improper method to take off the husk, it will cause the oil leak and nutrition loss. Initially we adopt traditional wet method to hull sesame seed, the result is same excellent, but we need use large amount of water to clean the residual of caustic lye during hulling section, meanwhile the following drying processing will cause huge energy consumption thus increase production cost, wet hulling process will bring about waste water, once the sesame manufacture doesn’t make treatment and drain out directly, it will cause environment pollution.
