Product Description

Fiber Optic Repeater is an integrated solution for coverage enhancement. The system consists of the Master Optical Unit (MOU) and Remote Unit (RU). The MOU’s modular design can support up to four RUs by adding additional optical interface card. The RU’s fully weatherized enclosure with the built-in AC power surge arrestor allows product installation at any outdoor environment and powered by exposed power lines.

This solution is an effective point-to-multipoint distributed antenna system that provides effective coverage enhancement. It uses single-mode fiber and is suitable for applications where large signal coverage is required, such as citywide enhancement, highway and canyons, campus, underground tunnels, airports and convention centers, etc.

Question: I live in a rural area. Rather than having a second phone line for work, I'd like to use my cell phone, but it only works outside.

Answer: Signals in many rural areas are marginal and cannot penetrate the walls of your home. Kingtone repeater can be easily deployed to provide coverage throughout your house. In a home, the donor unit is generally deployed outside – for example, under the eaves. Because it is more sensitive than your phone and is mounted higher up, it can usually detect signals that your phone can't. The coverage range of 15,000 to 50,000 square feet (2,000 to 4,600 square metres) is adequate for most homes.

Question: When I'm at the cottage, I'd like to stay in touch, but if I publish my cottage number, everyone will call. I'd like to just use my cell phone. Can you help?

Answer: Signals in many cottage areas are marginal and cannot penetrate the walls of your cottage. Kingtone repeater can be easily deployed to provide coverage throughout your cottage. In a cottage, the donor unit is generally deployed outside – for example, under the eaves or on a utility pole. Because it is more sensitive than your phone and is mounted higher up, it can usually detect signals that your phone can't. The coverage range of 15,000 to 50,000 square feet (2,000 to 4,600 square metres) is adequate for most cottages.

You get the privacy of your cottage and the convenience of your cell phone. Just remember to turn it off sometimes!

Question: I'm a production manager in a factory, and no cell phones work inside. I spend most of my time in a couple of spots. Can you help?

Answer: Factories and warehouses with lots of metal construction often have poor signals. While these buildings may be large, the employees are generally located in only a few areas.
Kingtone repeater can be easily deployed to provide coverage in those spots. The donor unit is deployed on the roof and connected to a coverage unit inside. The coverage range of up to 100,000 square feet is adequate for most trouble spots. Multiple units can be easily deployed to cover office areas and other working locations.

Question: No cell phones work in the parking garage. While many employees carry cell phones for safety, the phones aren't useful in any of the high-risk areas.

Answer: Kingtone repeater an provide coverage in parking garages above and below ground. That's useful for emergencies, and it removes the irritation of calls being dropped when you park your car.
The donor unit is placed where it can detect a signal (this might be outside or in a stairwell). It is connected to the coverage unit, which is placed in the centre of the garage up to 245 feet (75 metres) away.

Question: I work in an office building with no outside access. The windows don't open, and I can't get to the roof. How can I install?

Answer: Kingtone repeater can be deployed completely within your office. It is the only in-building in-building solution.

The donor unit needs to be placed somewhere where it can detect a signal (this might be beside a window or the outside wall). The coverage unit is then placed roughly in the centre of the problem area. Ideally, the two units are separated as much as possible.
For esthetic purposes, the entire system can be placed above the ceiling tiles.

Question: Does Kingtone repeater provide coverage for multiple users within a trouble spot?

Answer: Absolutely. Kingtone repeater is fully adaptive and supports multiple simultaneous users. Multiple units can be easily deployed to cover office areas and other working locations.
