Product Description

AZS Fused Cast Refractories are the most widely used materials in glass melting furnaces, frit kilns and occasionally some foundry plants(skid rails of reheating furnace). They can be classified by their zirconia content, which basically defines their corrosion resistance, into 3 families: AZS 33, AZS36 and AZS41

AZS 33: The compact microstructure of AZS 33 enables it to have very good corrosion resistance to molten glass. It very rearely results in stoning and has very limited chances to cause blistering and othe defects to glass, so AZS 33 is the most common product used in the glass furnace.

AZS 36: Despite of the similar eutectic crystal as AZS 33, AZS 36 has more free baddeleyite crystals in chain structure and less vitreous phase, which further improve the corrosion resistibility and reduce the potential defects in glass, so it is recommended to be used in sections where glass flow is faster and temperature is higher, such as melter sidewall, paving, doghouse, etc.

AZS 41: AZS 41 has the most free baddeleyite crystals among the fused cast AZS families, which are evenly distgributed within the block. Its corrosion resistibility is the best and thus it is usually recommended to be used in the most demanding positions to balance the furnace life.

FAQ

1. what is the service life of your AZS fused cast blocks?

service life is affected by many factors, such as the type of glass you're melting, raw materials, type of fuel, pull rate, furnace management, daily maintenance,etc..

However, for regular soda-lime bottle glass furnace under proper management, the AZS blocks should hold more than 8 years. usually it is the other parts that fails first in the furnace, such as regenerators, melter crown,etc.. So the AZS blocks are usually not a major concern for campaign life except for those quick wear areas such as throat and doghouse corners, where a higher grade material could be considered like Iso-pressed chrome or zircon,etc..

2. How do you compare the quality of your AZS blocks to those by western manufacturers like Monofrax, SEPR,etc..?

the quality is very very similar if not the same. Many customers who had previously used European products are now coming to us for the AZS products, because of our good quality, quick delivery time, competitive prices,
