The Wireless Vantage Pro2 Model 6152, is the latest innovation in weather stations from Davis Instruments and is now better than ever! The Vantage Pro2 is the first weather station in its price range to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology.
What this means to you is that you'll have improved wireless reception through multiple walls and greater immunity from RF interference. The frequency hopping spread spectrum radio feature allows the unit to choose from a series of alternative frequencies from 902Mhz thru 928Mhz, and should there be any interference problems with other wireless devices at the installation, this technology ensures that there will be a range of frequencies available for optimal reception of transmitted data and minimized effects from RF Interference. Wireless Vantage Pro2s can now transmit and receive data up to 1000' (300 m) line of sight.
Another change is the new aluminum plated-tipping bucket in the rain gauge -- it sheds water and resists corrosion like nothing else on the market. The bucket is even laser-calibrated to ensure the best accuracy possible. Even the Vantage Pro2’s Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) has been retooled to deliver more from the chips on up, and now has a fifth radiation shield plate to further improve the accuracy of the temperature readings.
