Cemented Zero-Order Waveplate
Waveplates, also known as Retarders, are used to transmit light while modifying its polarization state without attenuating, deviating, or displacing the beam. Retarders are designed to operate with light that have existing polarization states. Using a Waveplate with unpolarized light will not have any impact on its polarization state and the light will remain unpolarized. Waveplates consist of birefringent, crystalline or polymer materials that create a phase shift between the polarization components.
1310nm and 1550nm True Zero Order Waveplates (Retarders) are constructed of a crystal quartz waveplate in optical contact with a high precision BK7 glass window. A dual-sided anti-reflection (AR) coating helps minimize surface reflection losses and return loss in fiber optic systems. 1310nm and 1550nm True Zero Order Waveplates (Retarders) are ideal for a range of telecommunications applications
